Responsibilities
» Interpret work orders, blueprints, and specifications, including geometric dimensions and tolerances (GD&T), tool lists, and CNC programs.
» Read and interpret both metric and imperial (English) engineering drawings.
» Set up and operate CNC Vertical Turning Lathes (VTL) with turning, milling, and grinding heads, as well as CNC and manual milling machines.
» Select and install appropriate fixtures, tooling, and workholding devices; perform tool offset adjustments as needed.
» Load and unload tools, fixtures, and parts on CNC VTLs and milling machines safely.
» Determine and set correct speeds and feeds for manual and MDI operations.
» Inspect and verify part dimensions using precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and bore gauges.
» Operate lifting devices and overhead cranes to move parts and fixtures safely.
» Edit and interpret Siemens and Fanuc G-code programs as required.
» Perform routine and preventive maintenance on equipment and coordinate repairs as needed.
» Adhere to all quality policies, work instructions, and print specifications.
» Perform additional duties as assigned by the Supervisor.
» Work overtime as required to meet production needs.
Qualifications
» Minimum of 7 years of experience setting up, editing, and operating CNC Boring Mills, CNC Vertical Mills, and CNC Lathes.
» Ability to maintain tolerances of ±0.01 mm (±0.0004 in).
» Strong working knowledge of the metric system.
» High school diploma or equivalent required.
» Formal vocational training or completion of a machining apprenticeship preferred.
